Off-Grid life trial camp + Three workshops オフグリッド体験お試しキャンプと3種のワークショップ
We welcomed a group from Matsuyama, Ehime, for a 3-day/2-night trial camp at Mots Land in Sashima. It was a very hot day, and everyone looked tired when they arrived by car, but after a short rest and playing in the ocean, they revived. By the third day, they had become accustomed to living off-grid, with only solar power for electricity, and were truly enjoying life by the sea.
Three workshops were offered this time.
The first workshop was rope work by Mr. Hamada. In the shade of the tree house with a gentle breeze, the participants worked on difficult rope ends treatment, practiced bowline knot that are useful for rescuing people, and made stairs with twigs, all with great interest.
Second workshop was maing dinner in bamboo rice containers. We used thick bamboo on the side, made a hole with a saw and machete, and cooked rice in it over a BBQ stove. The rice was cooked to the satisfaction of the members who love rice, and they enjoyed it with keema curry.
Third workshop is electricity by Mots. This time, an experiment to measure voltage by sticking the electrodes of a voltage measuring device (tester) into the soil of a planter was very popular. Mots devised his explanations based on the guests' reactions. He is learning each time, too.
This was the first trial to receive a group using camp site in Mots Land. It was a good opportunity for us to assess what we can and cannot offer. We will continue to prepare for the official opening.
愛媛・松山から迎えた団体様に、佐島のモッツランドで2泊3日のお試しキャンプを体験していただきました。とても暑い日だったので、車で到着した直後はみんな疲れた顔をしていましたが、しばしの休息と海遊びで復活。3日目には電気は太陽光発電だけのオフグリッドライフにも慣れ、海辺の生活を心から楽しんでいるようでした。
今回は３つのワークショップを提供しました。
一つ目は、濱田さんによるロープワーク。日陰にそよ風が心地よいツリーハウスで、難しい末端処理から取り組み、救助にも活躍するもやい結び、小枝を使って階段をつくったり、興味津々で取り組んでくれました。
二つ目は、竹飯盒で夕飯づくり。太めの竹を横に使い、のこぎりと鉈で穴をあけ、熾火状態になったBBQコンロにかけて炊飯。ごはんが大好きなメンバーも納得の炊きあがり、キーマカレーで美味しくいただきました。
三つ目は、モッツさんによる電気のワークショップ。今回は、電圧測定器（テスター）の電極を、プランターの土に刺して電圧を測定する実験が好評でした。モッツさんはゲストの反応を見て、説明を工夫していました。彼も毎回学んでいます。
今回は、モッツランドで初めてキャンプサイト利用の団体受入を試みました。私たちは何が提供できるか、できないか、を見極めるよい機会となりました。引き続き正式オープンに向けて準備を進めて行きます。
