A Local friend enjoyed conversation with Denis from Greece via pocketalk over breakfast. I knew the availability of the real time translator through my work, I thought it must be necessary for Mots san to do business with Chinese, Mots san agreed with me and bought it but the previous version.
朝ごはんを食べながら、地元の友人が、ギリシャから来たデニスと、ポケトークを使って会話を楽しみました。この同時翻訳機の威力を仕事を通じて知り、モッツさんの中国ビジネスに必須と考え、モッツさんの賛同も得て、旧バージョン の製品を購入しました。
My work is to sustain the practical use of research outcome from Intellectual Property and Contract fields, and is mainly to help a researcher and ophthalmologist who undertakes development of novel medical cure including regenerative medicine and low vision care. The pocketalk was introduced as one of tools for low vision care actually by using at the presentation of laboratory seminar last week.
私の仕事は、研究成果の実用化を、知的財産と契約の分野から支援することで、主に、再生医療を含む新たな治療の開発と、ロービジョンケア（視覚障害によって日常生活・社会生活を不自由に感じている方への支援 ）に取り組む、一人の眼科医兼研究者のお手伝いをしています。ポケトークは、ロービジョンケアのためのツールの一つとして、先週行われた研究室のセミナーのプレゼンテーションで実際に用いながら紹介されたものでした。
For low vision, the following definitions are in use:
• (WHO, world health organization) Low vision is visual acuity less than 6/18 and equal to or better than 3/60 in the better eye with best correction. See WHO website. Japan ophthalmologists association said that "low vision collectively means a condition people have trouble with daily life because of visual defect in addition to vision and view in Japan. The association provides some information of low vision care with some items. See Low Vision Care site. Such items also help people who become hard to read letters with age. The researcher is involved with the low vision care not only as an ophthalmologist bust also through a public interest incorporated association, NEXT VISION. See NEXT VISION.
Recently, my friend had eye operation, which motivated me to introduce the world of low vision care this time. Please share this information with people who needs it around you.
ロービジョンは、 WHO 世界保健機関の定義では、「矯正視力が0.05以上0.3未満」とされています(WHO のサイト)。 日本眼科医会によれば、日本では視力・視野のみでなく、視覚障害のために日常生活に不自由のある状態を「ロービジョン」と総称しています。同会はロービジョンケアに使われるさまざまなアイテムについて情報を発信しています (学会のロービジョンケアのサイト) 。 このようなアイテムは、加齢で文字が読みにくくなった人たちにも役立ちます。その研究者は、ロービジョンケアに対して、眼科医としてだけでなく、公益社団法人としても取り組んでいます( NEXT VISIONのサイト)。
最近、友人が眼の手術をしたので、今回、ロービジョンケアの世界を紹介しようと思い立ちました。皆さんの周りでもし必要とする方がいらしたら、こうした情報をご紹介してみてください。

This is one of our, Renaissance's motto and was told by the researcher recently. Renaissance hopes to help children and young people learning basic science and technology based on the motto and have prepared tools, spaces and knowhow for that and provided some small events and experiences.
