養鶏、全滅からの復活

昨年、2024年3月は鶏エサを狙って猪が鶏小屋の壁を破り、そこから侵入した猫などに鶏が襲われることが繰り返され、4月にはついに鶏が全滅してしまっていました。その猪は仕留めて食べてリベンジを果たしたのは、こちらのブログに書いたとおり。

次なる問題は、養鶏を再開するかどうか。迷っていると、鶏友たちが受精卵を分けてくれ、孵化までしてくれ、励まされてまた少しずつ飼い始めました。今年4月末には自然ふ化にも初めて成功。鶏飼い、あきらめなくてよかった。かわいい2羽のひよこたちが駆け回っている様子をぜひ見に来てください。

Last year, in March 2024, wild boars broke through the walls of the chicken coops in search of chicken feed, and the chickens were repeatedly attacked by cats and other animals that entered through the walls, finally wiping out the chickens in April. As I wrote in an earlier blog, that boar was captured and eaten, and revenge has just been served!

The next question was whether to resume chicken farming.When I was unsure, my chicken friends shared fertilized eggs with me and even hatched them. Encouraged, I started raising chickens again little by little. At the end of April this year, we succeeded in natural hatching for the first time.I am glad that I did not give up on chicken keeping.
