Report of chatting party @ wood craft club おしゃべり会の報告@木工クラブ
Every Monday morning, I can meet many people other than wood craft member at wood craft club. Today we have one visitor who used grinder to make edge of round wood in tapered shape. The other visitor was my friend who stopped by to see here for the first time with a little girl. He is interested in having experience here some day.
I made small timbers out of natural branches. My friend brought the branches and asked me to make a basket I displayed at culture festival last autumn. Actually, the basket was made from square plate not small timbers. So we will discuss new design to make similar basket out of small timbers from now.
An experienced wood craft man, Nakayama san is making a interesting product again. Those bamboo name plate for garden is very nice. I want to follow it later.
We have a tea time and talk about many topics. Today I reported a chatting party at Iwagi I joined yesterday, on Sun Feb 24. People who lives in Iwagi talked about several issues. I thought they share basic issues with other islands. My friend hoped to have such chance in yuge, too. Let's do it.
毎週月曜日の午前は、木工クラブで、メンバー以外にもいろんな人たちに会うことができます。今日はお一人体験に来られ、円盤状の板のふちをグラインダーを使って斜めに削り落していました。もう一人のお客さんは、私の友人で、小さい女の子と一緒に初めてクラブを覗いてくれました。いつか体験に来たいと興味を持ってくれたようです。
私は、切り落としの枝から小さい角材を削り出しました。友人が剪定した枝を持ってきて、私が昨年文化祭に展示したようなかごを作ってほしいと頼まれました。でも、あのかごは平らな板から作られたものです。そこで、友人と一緒にデザインから考えて、にたようなかごを作ることになりました。
ベテランクラフトマンの中山さんは、また面白い作品を作っています。花壇用の竹のネームプレート、素敵です。あとから真似しよう。
木工クラブでは途中にお茶の時間があって、いろんなことを話します。今回は、私が昨日岩城で参加したおしゃべり会について紹介しました。岩城に住む方々がいろんな問題について話されていました。私は基本的な問題はほかの島にも共通してあると思いました。これを聞いた友人は、弓削でもこういった機会があるといいのにと言っていました。
