Workaway ワークアウェイ
Two cyclists of french and spanish ariived from Imabari. They are third workaway people we received. The framework of Workaway give travelers a chance to exchange labors for food and bed.
We often utilize the framework because the ideas of trade without money fits into our mind and it’s helpful for us to advance our project, even though there are some difficulties. Workaway people provides us a good chance to communicate with foreginers, broaden our horizons, and brainstorm some creative ideas. I think this is one of style of making community beyond living place.
This time, Mikael from France is a carpenter, so he helps to make sliding doors and put linoleum on top of kitchen counter. Miguel from Spain used to work for IT company but he likes to do something with hand, so we discussed what we ask him. He said he made
pizza oven in Nara, so we asked him to build pizza oven here, too.
The first day, Miguel cleaned up the place for pizza oven. After that, he challenged to harvest oysters for the first time with help of Mots san. Mikael quickly started to build sliding doors. They met each other in Nara for one month ago, but look long term friend.
フランス人とスペイン人、二人のサイクリストが今治から到着しました。彼らは私達が受け入れる三番目のWorkdaway,ワークアウェイの人たちです。 Workaway の枠組みによって、旅人は、労働と引き換えに、食事とベッドを手に入れることができます。
いろいろ難しい面もありますが、金銭を介さない交換の思想が私たちの考えに沿い、且つ私たちのプロジェクトを進めるのに役立つので、この枠組みをよく利用してます。ワークアウェイの人たちは、外国人と交流し、視野を広げ、創造的な考えを引き出すチャンスをくれます。これは、居住地を超えた一つのコミュニティーの姿と考えています。
今回、フランスから来たミケールは大工だったので、引き戸の製作とキッチンカウンター上へのリノニウム貼りを手伝ってもらいました。スペインから来たミゲールはIT企業に勤めていたけど、手で何かを作ることがすきだということで、依頼することを相談しました。彼は奈良でピザ窯を作ったというので、ここでも私たちのピザ窯をつくってもらうことにしました。
初日、ミゲールはピザ窯設置場所の片づけをしました。そのあと、モッツさんの指導の下、初めての牡蠣うちをしました。ミケールはすぐに引き戸の製作に取り掛かりました。二人はほんの1か月ほどまえに知り合ったばかりということですが、古い友人同士のように見えます。
