- It was a DIY day today. Not only for us. I visited DIY people in Yuge.
- First, We tried to carry very heavy metal basement of huge water tank to South Sashima with Tachibana san’s help. We rented a 1t track from ShinOnomichi and tried to move it by chain block, but it doesn’t move well. Probably we should use a unic track. We will try at another time.
- Second, Mots san fixed muffler of our motorcycle. Our old motorcycle often makes noise because of some holes in muffler, so Mots san used to cover them with heat resistance resin, but they dropped when I was driving. Next his strategy is to cover them with metal sheet. I hope it would work!
- Third, Mochizuki san had trouble with his PC, so I visited his house, tried to fix it and gave a little help when he called customer center etc. He hopes to save his data in his HDD if possible, so he opened his PC box and took it. I brought it back to my home and will try to read and save data somehow.
- Fourth, I visited Tagashira san while he was working on rebuilding his workshop. He repaired all parts such as roof, wall and floor. He installed wood stove to make his dream come true and put nice well pump by asking his friend mechanical work. It is surprised that Tagashira san is over eighty! We respect not only his energy but also his spirit.
- Fifth, I visited Nakano san’s farm by Miki san’s guide. Nakano san grows wheats and made flour by his hand for five years. She learned how to do it by herself. I impressed her attitude. She said she took much much time to do wheat separation and grinding. The other day, My friend, Mika san and I told her we can help! but I also wonder if his tool would be modified by adding motor. Mots san and I always think that labor of farming should be less by technology. I want to do something for that until harvesting wheat.
- Sixth, no picture but I visited Miki san and Kato san before Nakano san’s farm. I reviewed wifi setting and could use their wireless printer from two comptures. Some people often needs such a little help. I think they should ask young people without hesitating it. Miki san and Kato san are new comers from Tokyo and enjoy countryside life such as lots of DIY stuff and cooking of fresh local vegetable. Not only that, they spend their time to support people who needs help and young people. I think new comer tends to have such a public spirit and can be driving force of even slightly changing such a small island.
- Lots of donation makes goats very happy! Thank you, everybody!!
- 今日はDIYの日でした。自分たちだけでなく。弓削に住むDIYの人々を訪問しました。
- まず、私たちは、巨大な水タンク用の、非常に思い金属の基礎を佐島に運ぼうと、立花さんの助けを借りてチャレンジしました。新尾道から1tトラックをかりてきて、チェーンブロックを使って動かそうとしましたが、うまく動かせませんでした。たぶんユニックトラクが必要なのでしょう。機会をあらためて、またチャレンジします。
- 二番目、モッツさんが原付バイクのマフラーを修理してくれました。私たちの古いバイクは、マフラーにあるいくつかの穴のため、うるさい音がしていたので、Motsさんは以前、耐熱性樹脂で穴を塞ぎましたが、私が運転中に落ちてしまいました。次のMotsさんの戦略は、金属シートでカバーすること。うまくいくとよいのですが！
- 三番目、望月さんがパソコンのトラブルがあるというので、お宅にお邪魔して、直そうとしたり、彼のカスタマーセンターへの電話対応をちょっと手助けしたりしました。できればハードディスク内のデータを保存しておきたいということで、彼にパソコンの蓋を開けてハードディスクを取り出してもらい、私が自宅に持ち帰ってデータの読み取りと保存を試すことになりました。
- 4番目、離れの作業場を修復中の田頭さんを訪ねました。彼は念願の薪ストーブを取り付け、彼の友人に機械仕事を頼んで美しい井戸ポンプを設置していました。驚くことに、田頭さんは80歳を越えています。私たちは、彼のエネルギー、そしてその精神を、心から尊敬しています。
- 5番目、中野さんの畑をみきさんに案内してもらいました。中野さんは5年程自分で小麦を育てています。育て方は自分で勉強したそうです。彼女のその態度はすごいと思いました。彼女は、小麦をごみからより分けたり、粉にひく作業にとても時間をかけていると言いました。以前、私の友達のミカさんと私は、お手伝いします!と申し出ましたが、モーターを取り付けることはできないかと考えてもいます。モッツさんと私はいつも、農業の負担は技術でもっと減らすべきだと思っています。小麦を収穫するまでになんとかしたいと思っています。
- 6番目、写真はありませんが、中野さんの畑の前にみきさんと加藤さんを訪問しました。無線LANの設定を見直して、2台のパソコンから無線のプリンタで印刷できるようにしました。こうしたちょっとしたことを必要とする人がいるものです。遠慮せず、若い人に頼ればよいと思います。みきさんと加藤さんは東京からの移住者で、たくさんのDIYごとや新鮮な地元野菜を料理することなど、田舎生活を満喫しています。それだけでなく、彼らの時間を、助けが必要な人々や若い人たちの支援に費やしています。移住者はこうした公共心を持つ方が多いように見え、それが力になって小さな島でも少しずつ変化していくことができるように思っています。
- やぎ賽銭箱からあふれるほどの野菜のおかげで、山羊たちは幸せです！みんなありがとう！！
