10th Breakfast Party: small talk 第10回朝食会：おしゃべり
It was a little cold this morning. But I visited and took one who is finding a delight in joining us outside.
One of members is striving hard for completion of his autobiography and gave us some background on his book. Though he just talks about the fact he faced on, all stories are very interesting.
A novelist admired his autobiography, gave him much advice to publish and spent much time to edit his autobiography. He feels obliged to the novelist for his help, but most professionals willingly give their skill if something attracts them. I know what the novelist feels and am helping to make another proposal to counter the contents page modified by the novelist according to the writer.
今朝は少し冷え込みました。でも、いつも朝食会への参加を楽しみにしている方を訪ね、外へお連れしました。
参加者の一人は自叙伝の完成に向けて奮闘中で、彼の本の裏話を披露してくれました。彼が体験した事実を話すだけなのに、どの話もとても面白いです。
ある小説家が彼の自叙伝を大変気に入って、出版するよう薦め、彼の自叙伝の編集に多くの時間を費やしていました。忙しい小説家の方にこんなに手伝わせてしまってと恐縮している彼ですが、専門家というものは気に入ったことには喜んで手を貸すものです。そんな小説家の気持ちをよく理解しつつも、著者の意向を汲んで、小説家に改変された目次に反対する案を作るお手伝いをしています。
