Wood craft trial 木工体験
Miguel enjoyed making bamboo cup at wood craft club all day. In the morning, he learned how to use the wood wheel from Nakayama san. He said he wanted to take the all steps by himself and did it in the afternoon. Nakayama san impressed that the beginner achieved mastery of wood wheel only one day.
Miguel challenges not only wood craft but also everything.
“I just try. It’s OK if I fail. I can learn from that and can do it better next time.”
I can see such mind in his attitude. It was also what I learned from Mots san. He keeps demonstrating it by series of challenges and failures since I met him, which makes now our life. I would often spend some time thinking about something but do nothing and give up. I have noticed that “Just try” is more interesting than just talking but I myself didn’t act like that. I tried to change myself step by step after meeting Mots san. I am excited about someone talking about what they did more than what they plan. “Just try” attitude needs energy but I believe something fun comes from it.
Mikael joined wood craft from afternoon. He is a carpenter. He quickly understand the wood wheel after watching Nakayama san’s work only once and modified the steps and the shape according to the way hethinks. Nakayama san looked up at the tall Mikael and impressed that he use the machine and saw skillfully very much. It was funny that Nakayama san suggested them joining the club.
ミゲールは、木工クラブで一日中、竹のコップづくりを楽しみました。午前は、中山さんから木工旋盤の使い方を学びました。ミゲールは全工程を自分でやりたいといって、午後にやってしまいました。初心者がたった一日で木工旋盤を使いこなしたと、中山さんは関心していました。
ミゲールは木工だけでなく何でも挑戦します。
「とにかくやってみる。失敗してもいい。失敗から学んで、次はもっとうまくできるようになる。
彼の態度からこのような考えが見えてきます。この考えは、私がモッツさんから学んだことでもあります。モッツさんと出会って以来、彼は数々の挑戦と失敗によってこの考えを身をもって示し続けていて、おかげで今の私たちの生活が成り立っています。私はこれまで、いろいろ考えることに時間を費やしながら何もせずあきらめてしまうことがよくありました。話だけより「とにかくやってみる」ほうが面白いとは思ってきたのですが、自分自身はそのように行動していなかった。Motsさんにあってから、少しずつ自分を変えようとしてきました。こんなことを考えている、という話よりも、こんなことをしました、という話の方が面白い。「とにかくやってみる」という態度は、エネルギーが必要だけど、なにか面白いことはそこから生まれると思っています。
ミケールは、午後から木工クラブへ。彼は大工さん。中山さんの作業を一度見ただけですぐに木工旋盤の使い方をマスターして、 彼の思うような手順と形にアレンジしていきました。中山さんは、背の高い彼を見上げながら、彼の機械やのこぎりを使う手つきにここから感心していました。中山さんが二人を木工クラブに入るよう誘っていたのがおかしかったです。
