- Local festival: Cleaning of shrine on Oct 7. Mots san and his daughter, Mari san arriving yuge from Kobe last night, joined the cleaning, too. Pre ceremony on Oct 8, and festival on Oct 9. I had a role staying at shrine in half day during festival. Shrine is in the forest and has no sound except for small sounds of cymbal and drum from festival procession outside. I had a relaxed time for a while.
- Mari san:She helped us by painting wall of Radio museum and having nice counversation with many visitors. She tried to make small dish at wood craft club.
- Dave and Mika san:We had dinner together and enjoyed talking for all this time. After dinner, we were laughing at short movie "how to eat sushi" on youtube.
- Pat and Shinobu:They stopped over at our house in yuge on their Shikoku trip from Shizuoka. Mots san got acquainted with Pat through someone's blog site, but we met for the first time. They told me many tips of farming. They give most of their harvest to their friend, and only cabbage and corn are sold. They sell corn for 300yen each and they are sold out quickly! I realized they are highly-skilled kitchen gardener and enjoy it from the heart.
- Sea firefly:From end of August, you can see blue blink on the edge of the surf at the beach in front ouf our house. They are firefly. I didn't notice that they are still there in middle of autumn. Mots san often dive and swim with blue light by alone. He picked up big oyster in the ocean last night. He could finally get company swimming together. Mari san, Pat and Shinobu san enjoyed electrical parade in the ocean with him.
- 地元のお祭り: 10/7は神社の掃除。モッツさんと、彼の娘で、昨夜神戸から弓削に到着したマリさんも掃除に参加しました。 10/8に夜殿祭、9日に大祭。私はお祭りの間、半日神社で宮番。神社は森の中にあって、外の行列から聞こえるシンバルと太鼓の小さい音以外に音はなし。しばし、リラックスタイム。
- マリさん:ラジオ博物館の壁のペンキ塗りを手伝ってくれたり、たくさんのお客さんと歓談したり。木工教室で小さいお皿作りを体験しました。
- デイヴとみかさん: 久しぶりに一緒に夕食を食べて話しました。食後は、ユーチューブの短い動、"寿司の食べ方"を見て笑いました。
- パットさんとしのぶさん:二人は、静岡から四国旅行のついでに弓削の私たちの家へ立ち寄ってくれました。モッツさんは、ある人のブログサイトを通じてパットさんと知り合っていましたが、実際に会うのは初めてでした。二人は、農業の工夫をたくさん聞かせてくれました。収穫物はほとんど友人にあげるけど、キャベツとトウモロコシだけは路地で無人販売するのだとか。トウモロコシは1本300円、でもすぐに売り切れてしまうそう！彼らはとても熟練した家庭菜園家で、畑仕事をこころから楽しんでいる様子がよくわかりました。
- 海ホタル:8月下旬から、自宅前の海岸の波打ち際が青くきらめきます。これが海ほたるです。秋も半ばまでいるとは気づきませんでした。モッツさんはよく一人で海に潜り、青い光と泳いでいます。昨夜は、海底から巨大な牡蠣を収穫していました。ついにモッツさんと一緒に泳いでくれる仲間ができました。マリさん、パットさん、しのぶさんがモッツさんと一緒に海のエレクトリカルパレードを楽しみました。
